Hugging the northern edge of Allegany State Park and close to the New York/Pennsylvania state line, Salamanca is a city within the Allegany Indian Reservation. ROUTES TO RIDE ON:
The Seaway Trail: While reaching Lake Erie may take about an hour, once you get there the Seaway Trail is widely available for exploring. This large, 518-mile scenic route spans across most of New York State, also entering into Pennsylvania in the south. You can travel along Lake Erie, Niagara Falls, Buffalo, Rochester, Lake Ontario and finish near the St. Lawrence River.
Peninsula Drive - Erie PA: After driving down an hour to Erie, PA you can find the Peninsula Drive. This 9-mile ride loops around Presque Isle which is surrounded by Lake Erie, giving you spectacular views of the water as you ride. You can turn it into an overnight trip and stay at nearby campgrounds that are close to the lake and beaches too.
Route 305: Starting in Portville, NY, which is about 35 minutes east of Salamanca, this route extends 29 miles northeast to Belfast, NY. Along the way, you will pass through rolling hills, farmland, Cuba Lake and small towns for plenty of pitstops if necessary.
